Information for Authors and Publishers
This information assumes that the submission is made by the author himself/herself, however we also welcome submissions of authors from publishers and agents. If you are a publisher, agent, or are otherwise representing an author, please specify this when you contact us.
Why should I submit?
We are always interested to hear from authors who would like to be listed at Authorsaurus. Before you think of submitting, there are two things you should know:
- Submission is entirely free. (We recover our costs through targetted advertising and affiliate links on the site, not by charging either our readers or our profiled authors.)
- All profiled authors receive a profile page to increase their online presence and provide a free resource for their readers. (See example.)
We see many potential benefits of submission:
- Authors’ profiles will include specific links to their books at online retaillers, potentially increasing sales internationally.
- Authors will have the opportunity to post links to their own website or blog. (This will not only provide a link for readers of Authorsaurus, but will also help to boost your site’s Google PageRank, making it more accessible through internet searches.)
- Author profiles will provide detailed biographical and literary information, making it easier for students and book groups to engage with your work.
- Profiles of similar authors on Authorsaurus, or those who write in a similar genre, will link bank to your profile page, introducing new readers to your work.
- Where relevant, author profiles will link to authors’ pages on social networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter. Through this, we hope that authors who want to can gain more ‘fans’ or ‘followers’ on these sites, connecting with more their readers.
How can I be considered?
To be considered, you must fulfill a number of criteria.
- You must have fictional work published in the English language, which is still in print.
- You must be able to point to an online presence. (A mention on a publisher’s website, for example, or your own website or blog.)
- You must be able to verify your identity, either by pointing to a public listing of your email address online, or by an email from your publisher confirming your identity.
Please note that whilst we would like to include as many authors as possible, this takes time. Please give up to four weeks from submission for your profile page to appear. If, for any reason, we decide not to include you, we will let you know by email as soon as possible.
What do I have to do?
Please email authors@authorsaurus.com, requesting a submission form. You will then receive a plain text document, which you can edit and then send back to us. Once this has been returned, and you have completed the steps requested, we will get to work on your profile page. This should typically take between one and four weeks.
How can I change, update or remove my page?
We will not normally make automatic changes to profiles upon, for instance, the publication of a new book or the awarding of a new prize. If you would like to make any changes to your profile, no matter how big or small, please send us an email at the same address as above.
